oscar

let's just be honest. i watch the oscars because i love to look at the pretty dresses and wish that i could wear them. but, let's just be honest again...even if i could afford the dresses, where the heck would i wear them to? chick-fil-a? the company bowling party? my daily sonic run?

this has me thinking that i should adjust my life to be "oscar dress worthy." i should be able to say, "oh darling, the dress gwyneth wore to the oscars would be a perfect fit for the gala in may." yes, time to make some life adjustments.

this dress made me sit up in bed and lust. "oh my gosh. that dress is unbelievably gorgeous." were my words. so beautiful. the style is very similar to the wedding dress my best friend wore.

1. i'm slightly obsessed with getting my nails done.

2. my hair is turning gray.

3. i love to drink. i think more about what i want to drink than anything else. i am currently loving cherry limeades and peach tea. this means daily sonic runs.

4. i love the book of Psalms. I have to force myself to read other books of the Bible because the Psalms just shows me so much about Christ.

5. i am so full of thankfulness to the Lord right now, that i am constantly on the verge of tears.

6. (shameless plug) i sell juice plus, which is fruits and veggies in a capsule...let me know if you are interested!

i love valentine's day because my husband and i actually met on valentine's at a college party :) eight years ago today, i met the love of my life...

special day.

re-emerging from the dead

i am currently on day 4 of not feeling like walking death 24/7. i am still nauseas, but it is more of a "car sick" nauseas than an " i am sick with food poisoning, painful, uncontainable, oh no i swallowed too much saliva so now i have to go throw up" nausea. i am almost to week 16 and my IV pump is pumping the most medicine it can into me, so...maybe i am on the mend. yesterday i took sophie out to go potty and we walked down the street. and today i fried my own egg for breakfast. these are huuuuuge steps considering just sitting up would normally make me puke.

all i have to say is "praise be to God my Provider for getting me through some of the hardest 10 weeks of my life and for giving this baby the nutrition it needed when i literally could not keep anything down in my stomach for sooo long." i feel like the Lord has been my first trimester doula. when i would cry out because i couldn't take it anymore, he would remind me of the little heart pumping inside my uterus. and i would remember it is not about me, it is about this new life...

i am an only child, who is self-admittedly selfish and my life changed when that stick said pregnant. it is not about me anymore...these past 10 weeks are just the beginning of the sacrifices i will make for my child...and i couldn't be more overcome with joy and thanksgiving.

i still need more crockpot recipes! begging! my creative food mind has not re-emerged yet and if i look at a recipe book for too long, i get sick. please help!

i need crock-pot recipes!

i am beginning to feel more like myself in the morning until a little after lunch. so, i have a window of 3 hours to actually take a shower and make my own breakfast etc...i think i need to add make dinner to that list. i really don't think i could actually cook without getting light-headed or having to run to the bathroom yet. but, i know i can throw stuff in a crock pot to cook through the day. so, i need ideas...e-mail me or comment below...give me some recipes people and i will post my favorites!

PS. give me anything that does NOT involve marinara sauce or barbeque. probably won't be able to eat those foods for awhile...

Snow day

we have been snowed in for two days, which has been great since my hubby has been home to keep me company. i got outside today for the first time in awhile and felt well enough to play with sophie in the snow for a few minutes!

sophie wants you to know that she loves the snow!

so apparently a ground hog saw his shadow today. all i have to say is "thank you Lord for said ground hog."

favorite season

It is official...i have officially changed my favorite season from fall to spring. and it feels so good.

i spent last summer really going over these changes in my head. i had always loved loved loved fall. we had a great relationship. so, it was hard to say goodbye. the smell, slight warmth and sunshine of spring teased and embraced me like i had never been teased and embraced before. it was new. it was different. and i could not resist. i decided to be fair, and give fall one more chance. so, i spent this past fall of 2010 in the mid-west and really examined my feelings. the leaves were beautiful. the pumpkin patches were fun. but, my love and excitement just never was the same. spring had my heart. i spent the past couple of months moving on from our long relationship and now my heart is ready and open to embrace spring completely.

in honor of this new and amazing relationship...i am posting pictures from me and spring's love affair from 2010 in washington dc..aka...the beginning of a beautiful relationship.


can not wait to continue our romance in a few months. only 40 or so more sleeps. if we can make it through this grey, snowy winter, we can make it through anything.
